My Music

Music is the refreshing element that washes away the dust of everyday life.

My kind of music is hard to describe. In a futile attempt, let me try to express them in plain adjectives:

Soft, gentle, moderated. Sweet, smooth and relaxed.
Easy listening. Mellow touch.
Intelligent with a childlike faith. Happy and reminiscent.
Intangible but your heart can feel it.
Rich but not indulgent. Simple yet priceless.

Some of these selections are hard to find. They are like digital endorphins that trigger positive moods. If you find them worthwhile, please say a little prayer of thanks for the artist(s) who made this musical experience possible. Pay it forward with a good deed.

Enjoy!

England Dan and John Ford Coley: Love is the Answer

Light of the world, shine on me … Love Is The Answer.
Shine on us all, set us free … Love is the Answer.

This is a song that has a classical base with a fine touch of gospel.
It has a special message that the world should be reminded of more often.
Perhaps if everyone thinks in this manner, our troubles would be less complicated.
Kenny Rankin: What Matters Most

It’s not how long we held each other’s hand
What matters is how well we loved each other

It’s not how long I held you in my arms
What matters is how sweet the years together

As a frequent traveler who spends more than half of his life on the road, this song reminds me how distance can actually strengthen the relationship.
Ronnie Laws: Stay Awake

In a special way I need your touch
To fill the warmth that comforts me
And you know it’s true
All and all I’d rather spend this time with you

Yet again, the song for the traveler who can’t wait to see his spouse, so meantime he stays awake until she is in sight.
A love song with a jazzy touch that sets the mood when two hearts reunite.
Michael Franks: Mr. Blue

We lived, we loved, we laughed we cried
We’ll never die, and now I think of you
And I change right into Mr Blue

All is fair in love. You can’t win them all. One gains, the other loses.
Despite the pain, he wishes her well.
Kenny Rankin: Hiding Inside My Self

A loving heart in a sensitive man
Hiding inside myself

It happens to a lot of guys who put their emotions on hold.
Suddenly that day comes when you meet that special someone.
You discover that you had it in you all along — a loving heart
George Duke: The Morning, You and Love

I have the answer, yes I’ve got the power in my hands
And I know it …

Written in the same style as the hit Sweet Baby from the Clarke-Duke project of 1981, this deserves special mention. It’s the gentle kind of music to perk you up while you take your morning cup of coffee.
Lee Ritenour: Is It You?

Is it you, knocking at my door?
Is it my imagination?

Lee ‘Captain Fingers’ Ritenour is probably best known because of this hit single. This song sprinkles a dash of jazzy beat in the morning or mid afternoon moods.
Shakatak: Lonely Afternoon

The heavy clouds are forming for another dark and rainy night.
A woman hurries home before the storm begins to break.
And as she turns to cross the street, waiting for the walking light,
She glances quickly at her watch, hoping that she won’t be late.

A typical day in the UK just before it starts to become dark and gloomy, the smooth and jazzy touch in this song makes you feel all warm and fuzzy.
Stanley Clarke and George Duke: Sweet Baby

Lying here alone I’m dreaming
My mind keeps wandering, my thoughts are only you
Wandering through the memories in my mind

I like this kind of music to set the mood for the late afternoon. It gives you that boost of energy for an extended positive mood.
Gloria Estefan: Words Get In The Way

I tried to say I love you, but the words got in the way …

All emotions locked down inside and she can’t get the words for what she wants to say, but she needs to express it before it’s too late.
Frank Stallone and Cynthia Rhodes: I'm Never Gonna Give You Up

I’m never gonna give you up
For someone else’s love
Never gonna let you go
And lose the one I love

This soundtrack from 1983’s Staying Alive is little known but the message is very powerful. You need to repeat this to yourself and your spouse … daily.
Wilbert Longmire: Love's Holiday

Would you mind if I looked
into your eyes till I’m hypnotized

From the album Champagne, it’s an old one but I like the touch of jazz fusion.
Leif Garret: When I Think Of You

When I think of you
I think of dancin’ in the street
Feelin’ every beat
Of the good summer fun

The music and beat blends well on a lazy weekend afternoon walking along the beach.
Carrie Lucas: Sometimes A Love Goes Wrong

Sometimes a love goes wrong
Sometimes a heart can fear love

It’s a sad song reflecting the realities that can happen in a real-world relationship
Consider the irony that the heart itself can fear love, that’s deep.
Atlantic Starr: Always

Girl you are to me
All that a woman should be
And I dedicate my life for always

Young lovers making plans with a vow to love each other — always.
Makes you want to fall in love all over again.
Fra Lippo Lippi: Light and Shade

Be proud to wear the colours that you call your own
Be loud, speak out when the world to know
Be strong, hold the flame for everyone to see
Be weak, if you want to love.

I like the style of this band from Norway. Their lyrics have a high measure of intellectual depth and are actually relevant even until today.

i’m quite often jumping on the net nearly all of the time which means I choose to peruse an awful lot, which isn’t commonly a good matter as the majority of the internet websites I look at are constructed of unnecessary waste copied from many other web pages a million times, nonetheless I have to compliment you because this webpage is in reality not bad at all and also has some genuine information, for that reason many thanks for smashing the pattern of replicating other peoples’ blogs and forums, if you ever wanna have fun with a couple of hands of myspace poker with me just let me know – you have my email address :)
